Default Estrada ready for 'trap' fight

2004 U.S. Olympian heavyweight Jason “Big Six” Estrada (13-1, 3 KOs) is treating his fight Friday night, against Texas champion Domonic Jenkins (13-8-1, 6 KOs) as a potential trap fight. The two fight an eight-rounder on this Friday night’s ESPN2 card from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Ct. The main event is an NABF cruiserweight title fight between champion Matt Godfrey (16-1, 9 KOs), of Providence, R.I., and Emmanuel Nwodo (22-4, 18 KOs), of Baltimore, Md. Estrada will go eight rounds. “I’m taking this fight completely serious, as if it’s for a championship,” says Estrada. “It’s these type of fights that guys take lightly and then get beaten. I know that this is an opportunity for me to move up in the heavyweight division.”
The fight card, billed as “Title Wave,” and promoted by CES, in association with Mohegan Sun and ESPN, also includes: Matt Remillard (14-0, 7 KOs) will go ten with Adauto Gonzalez (9-4, 3 KOs) for a vacant WBC featherweight belt in the co-feature. In a four-rounder, Brian Macy (4-0, 1 KO) faces Shawn Kirk (4-2, 2 KOs) at super middleweight; light heavy Keith Kozlin debuts against 0-3 Borngard Washington; female welter Addy Irizarry (5-2, 2 KOs) fights Yvonne Reis (7-12-1); and female super bantam Karen Dulin (0-1) goes four with Christina Leadbeater (1-1, 1 KO). Tickets starting at $30 are available at 401-724-2253 or 2254, or at any Ticketmaster outlet.
