Ndlovu 28-4; 18 who was born in Soweto made his pro debut in April 1999 when he stopped Johnson Sengwana in four rounds. In what was considered an upset at the time he suffered his first loss on a points decision to Joshua Khoase after clowning his way through most of the fight. Putting this setback behind Ndlovu won his next 12 fights before winning the SA featherweight title in sensational style when he knocked out Anthony Tshehla in 46 seconds of the first round in May 2002. He made successful defences against Solomzi Govuza, Edward Mpofu, Luyolo Kotsana, Mikael Matsunyane and Willie Mabasa, winning the prestigious Old Buck championship belt outright before relinquishing the title in August 2005. He lost two controversial decisions to the former IBF champion Vuyani Bungu, with the second fight being for the vacant IBO featherweight belt. In November 2005 he decided to drop down to the junior featherweight division and looking much sharper showed outstanding form in outpointing Armando Guerro of Mexico in New York to win the vacant IBO junior featherweight belt. In 2006 he made successful defences against Fabio Daniel Oliva, Giovanni Andrade and Ricardo Castillo before challenging Canadian Steve Molitor for the IBF junior featherweight belt. In a poor performance Takalani was completely outclassed by Molitor before being stopped in the ninth round. In February this year moving back to the featherweight division he scored an easy fourth round stoppage victory over Raymond Sermona of the Philippines. Beltran who was born Fernando Manuel Beltran Machado in Culiacan, Mexico on August 18, 1981 has an outstanding record of 30 wins, 3 losses, 1 draw and 1 no contest, with 18 wins inside the distance. His losses have been to top men in the super featherweight division with the first coming against Joan Guzman in April 2005 when challenging for the WBO super bantamweight title and in October of the same year he was outpointed by the capable Hugo Dianzo. In April this year he was out boxed Steve Molitor in a challenge for the IBF junior featherweight belt and lost on wide margins on the judges scorecards. The Mexican is a skilled fighter and Ndlovu will have to be at his best to pull of a victory here. source - - - Boxing News -- 24 hours/day - Reload often!
