Amir Khan is promising to put on a show for Sky Box Office. The lightweight sensation makes his debut on our screens against unbeaten Colombian Breidis Prescott on September 6. It will also be his first fight under new trainer Jorge Rubio but although the 21-year-old has been working on his defence he is still determined to put on a blockbusting display. "It's important to give the fans an exciting fight, and I don't plan on changing that," he told frankwarren.tv. "I've been working on keeping my hands up with Jorge, but I still love being a showman and giving the crowd value for money. "I think it's important to go out there and be positive because that's what everyone wants to see." Much has been made of Khan's last fight, when he was floored by Michael Gomez before stopping him in five. It was the second time he has been down in his professional career (18-0) but has vowed not to change the all-action style that has made him an instant hit with the fans. Inspiration "I love it when the crowd get in to my fights. "Everywhere I've been everyone has been right behind me, and that's a real inspiration." Prescott comes to England for the first time as a relative unknown. The Khan clash will be only the third time he has boxed outside of his homeland following bouts in Panama and Florida this year. But he will come to the MEN Arena with an impressive 19-0 record, 17 coming inside the distance, and at 5ft 11in and having boxed at welterweight, is likely to pose the biggest physical threat to Khan yet. source - - - Sky Sports | Boxing | News | Khan keen to turn it on

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Khan keeps guard up for Prescott Prescott (left) has built up a similar record to Khan'sAmir Khan is out to answer any queries over his defensive skills when he faces Colombian Breidis Prescott on Saturday. Khan suffered the third knockdown of his professional career against Michael Gomez in June, and new trainer Jorge Rubio was employed to tackle any flaws. The Bolton lightweight, 21, said: "Jorge has taught me to keep my hands up more and made my defence tighter. "It wasn't ideal getting knocked down by Gomez, but it taught me a lesson and I'm glad it happened." Gomez, a former British super-featherweight champion, managed to floor Khan in the second round. The 2004 Olympic silver medallist had previously been sent to the canvas by Scotland's Willie Limond and Frenchman Rachid Drilzane. Khan regained his composure to secure a fifth-round stoppage win over Gomez, but the knockdown prompted his management to hire Cuban Rubio, a former coach with the Cuban amateur boxing team. ![]() "I've been doing a lot of different things in training and have adjusted really quickly and smoothly to working with Jorge," said Khan, who has won all 18 of his fights as a pro, 14 by KO. The unbeaten Breidis, 25, has a similar record, with 17 of his 19 wins coming via stoppages. He and Khan will be fighting for the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) intercontinental lightweight crown at the MEN Arena in Manchester. Khan weighs-in ahead of Prescott fight Khan added: "I am going to use my brain, work off the jab, work in and out. I'm going to put in some big power shots to slow him down a bit and then put the pressure on him. "I've worked on keeping my hands up more, but I still love being a showman and giving the crowd value for money. "It's going to be another step up for me to take me closer to where I want to be, fighting for a world title." Both Khan and Prescott weighed in half a pound under the 135lb lightweight limit. The fight is on the same bill as Alex Arthur's WBO super-featherweight defence against Romford's Nicky Cook. source - - - BBC SPORT | Boxing | Khan keeps guard up for Prescott
