McIntyre vowing to regain title

Kevin McIntyre says he is looking forward to facing Brook

Kevin McIntyre has vowed to win back the British welterweight title after it was confirmed he will face Kell Brook in Birmingham on 31 October.
The Paisley boxer, 30, was stripped of his title in June, when he was unable to fight Brook due to a back injury.
Brook then captured the vacant Lonsdale Belt against Barrie Jones.
"I'm delighted to get a date," said McIntyre. "Everything is back in my own hands again and I'm two wins away from winning the title outright."
The British Boxing Board of Control stripped McIntyre of his title when he twice failed to defend his title due to injury.
But the Scottish boxer said he was determined to defeat Brook when they meet in October.
"The only difference now is that I am the challenger, but once the bell goes it doesn't matter who is the champion and who is the challenger," McIntyre said. "I won't mind fighting in Birmingham because it looks good on my resume if I can travel away from home and recapture my title. "I have made a financial loss as a result of being stripped of my title as I only get 40% of the purse as the challenger, but I will use that as extra motivation for this fight."
