Michael Bisping had only one response when Setanta.com raised the topic of Rampage vs Wanderlei…stating: “I wouldn’t wanna be Wanderlei.”
To watch the full interview with Bisping, tune into Setanta's leading UFC magazine show "Ultimate Talk", which is live every Thursday from 7pm on Setanta Sports News.
Bisping has been training with Rampage Jackson ahead of the American's first fight in The Octagon since he lost the light-heavyweight belt to Forrest Griffin. Standing opposite him at “UFC 92” is a man who has beaten him twice before…knock-out specialist Wanderlei Silva.
Despite featuring on the biggest card of the UFC calendar, Rampage v Wanderlei is undoubtedly the stand-out fight – one that has Fight of the Night and (maybe) Fight of the Year written all over it.
Setanta Sports thought it was time to speak Rampage’s personal punchbag ahead of the fight, and Bisping was left in no doubts as to who will triumph come December 27.
“I know for a fact that when Rampage is swinging those punches in training, he’s throwing them that little bit harder,” Bisping told Setanta.com.
“It doesn’t feel too great to be on the end of those punches I can tell you that.
“When he drops down from a 16-oz glove to a 4-oz glove, I wouldn’t wanna be Wanderlei on the night.
“Obviously Wanderlei’s a world class fighter in his own right, he’s had two victories over Rampage, and that brings an extra dimension to the fight.
“That’s a mental hurdle Rampage has to overcome, but I think Rampage is gonna do it and I’ll be 150 percent behind him on the night.”
