After around 8 months out of training (well boxing) I've started it back up again
I stopped as my instructor was a tool who demanded various medicals to even spar lightly, also he taught everyone to box in the exact same way (i.e. not taking into account thing like height, build etc).
I finally found a new club having moved to a different part of Manchester for uni, went to a class this evening it was great I remembered how much I enjoyed it after doing some sparring in the gym.
After warming up did a few rounds on the bags before the instructor took me on the pads, turns out I'm not that rusty after all, then me and a bloke who's first time it was sparred (he's 26, 14 stone rugby player, I'm 11 n a half 18 year old student) how I'm still alive I don't know. Did a round with him then after more bag work did 2 rounds against a lad who's half a stone lighter than me 19, about to having his second professional fight.
Once the nerves went I started to do well, he underestimated me and I got him with some combinations, I almost knocked him down after 1 combo. I well enjoyed it and learnt that shitting yourself makes you well knackered as me and my first sparring partner found out.
Both opponents went easy on my and I did the same in with the first bloke but it was a good experience.
We finished off with some intense cardio which killed me as there's some illness going round which I've got but still.
Can't wait til next thurs.
