I had it the same joabb by a round.....but it was'nt that close with Mc Dermott being 3 up with 2 rounds left!!

He was clearly well up and could virtually cruise to the end of the fight even losing the last 2 as he did and still win...

O'conner needs fucking for that...he might of had a case for a draw with a couple of rounds being close but a 6 round victory

I had it Fury by 2 rounds.

I had Fury 3-2 up at one point and also had it 4-4 at one point...I had it close and level following the 8th round, but then I scored the last two rounds to Fury.

A lot of the rounds were scrappy and I scored the clean jabs more than some of the agression where often McDermott was on the inside and not connecting in a good way in my opinion.

Jim Watts commentary was so bias it was embarrasing.

In one of the rounds I saw Fury land a few jabs and then on the indside throw and land about 8 shots and McDermott came back with one good shot and Watt who had said nothing about Fury then said are work by McDermott and going onto to say he was having it his own way

And I am not a Fury fan- for the record.

I think that very few people score for counter-punching off the back foot if a fight is close, people always tend to see the agressor as the one running the show IMO.

A load of people on here had JMM losing to Diaz when JMM Kod Diaz, but I had JMM winning with ease. Again I think that was a case of people scoring a favoured style over and above the actual punches landed.

This fight has revealed more about Fury's lack of skills and technical ability than anything else. His lack of power stems from bad punching technique.

I do not rate him above national level after this.

Fury is honest, should get great stamina as he has more fights and has a good chin but he is crude with average skills and lacks power.

We should get a rematch given the joke scorecard.

I do favor the fighter coming forward and forcing the fight, Tyson wasnt landing enough clean sharp punches to catch your eye...and thats exactly what you need to do when going back, Guy like Whitaker, leonard, Ali or Floyd Mayweather all land clean sharp flashy shots and combos while fighting in the style when moving back. Fury was landing sloppy inaccurate shot while moving back.

As you saw i score it very close so im not gonna be screaming that the wrong guy one and it was a robbery, its just Terry O'conners terrible score i cant deal with....

    Good post

Personally I think we have to consider the quality of the fight as a whole, you can't expect every fighter who fights off the back foot to look like Leonard or Whitaker just in order to get the win.

I score punches that land whether the fighter is coming forward, going backwards- whatever. Style is a means to an end- landing punches and I score punches.

I had Fury as a winner but given just how scrappy the fight was I could accept anything from a draw to McDermott nicking it by a round.

But I agree that the ref and the scorecard was a disgrace and you scored the fight well if you had it close in my view- whichever way you had it.
