Default Re: Premiership team of last season.

Dont get me wrong Stephen, Keane is a class act and im a fan of his but he falls just short of the top players.

I put him in the Bellamy, Defoe and Crouch braket. All excellant players in there own right but just short of world class.

no your right tom, no point, its irrespective to where he comes from, robbie has been poor for ireland for a few years now. but robbie has more to offer a team than any of the other 3 tom, go check his stats tom and you will see im right. bellamy, crouch and defoe dont offer a team anything near what keane does. they dont have his vision, touch, workrate, teamwork or abilty to do the unexpected.

There all round games are not as good but there all different players. I like Bellamy over him personaly but i would agree the other two may not be as good.

I just dont think he falls into the same bracket as the elite. He'll struggle to get his game at Liverpool.

Noone ever said he wasn't a very good player. He just isn't in the elite, even you know this deep down. I've always been a big fan of him ever since I seen him at Coventry but Liverpool got shafted having to pay £20m.

all bellamy has over him is pace. thats it period.Bellamy is an average footballer with electric pace. he played for celtic i seen him, half the time he couldnt finish his dinner. no consistancy whatsoever.

i never said he was elite, but every pundit on sky had him ahead of tevez in their teams of the year. Tevez was no where better than keane last season. keane outshone berbatov last season. adebayor ourscored tevez as did torres, tevez isnt in any team of the year for last season, no chance.

when did i say he was elite. i said he had a better season than tevez last year, facts and ex pros would agree with this. he also had a far better season than berbatov last year. thats not me saying hes better but that he had a better season.

Look, the way i look at price tags is, if pompey had to pay 11million for crouch, keane is worth twice the goals, hence twice the price.

Maybe you're right but when Berba was fit he was always kept on longer than Keane.

I agree with you that Keane is a much better player than Crouch, even though he hasn't got off to a good start at Liverpool.

Keane scored 15 league goals last season and Tevez scored 16. I cant find assists on both but i would bet Tevez hit double figures also.

Bellamy on his game is electric with his pace and his ability to get past players. he's not the worst finisher either. He scored 7 in 12 when he was at Celtic.
