music is probably the only thing i love more than boxing...i grew up in northern california on a heavy dose of bay area hip-hop or rap music as we used to call it...but i also grew up in the 80's and love all that cheesy old synth pop,old school rap music as well as prince, guns and roses and metallica, madonna(dont laugh)michael jackson(really dont laugh)...my favorite rap artists are too short, mac dre,n.w.a,brotha lynch, scarface(geto boys) amongst many others, mostly that hardcore stuff...but my parents and uncles got me on that old school r&b like isley bros.,curtis mayfield, earth wind & fire, the funkadelics, sly & the family stone, smokey robinson MAN i could go on and on...i also listen to jazz like miles davis, john coltrane, wes montgomery any of the great jazz horn or guitar players...love the old delta blues artists like howlin' wolf, muddy waters, john lee hooker, magic sam you know that old down home sh**...i also listen to reggae and dancehall, but lately i really been on a classic rock kick...been listening to alot of the beatles, doors, led zeppelin, janis joplin, pink floyd, santana, the band, the jeff beck group, the allman bros.,fleetwood mac circa the 1960's and just about anything with a real heavy guitar sound from that period...i think thats about the best music to uh,cough, cough, um indulge to(if ya know what i mean)...with that being said my all time favorite musician is JIMI HENDRIX there is no commercial release i dont own & i also have around 90+ live jimi hendrix concerts on cassette tape and compact disc(spent a small fortune in my lifetime on that collection)...basically i will listen to anything as long as its good and dont really have a preference for any particular genre...Oh!!!and i must give a shout out to this group that arent very big outside of california but in my opinion they were the best rock band of the last 15 years...SUBLIME....their lead singer died close to ten years ago but check them out if you havent heard of them...(some more sh** to indulge to)

godslayer my man...you have good taste then...because i see your also a marvin hagler fan(he's my second favorite behind pernell whitaker)...i also seen on the eric clapton thread that you have alot of love for the blues, although im from the great state of california my father was from the south and i grew up listening to buddy guy, albert king, elmore james basically all the greats of the missisipi delta and chicago blues scene...also you picked some great hendrix songs and not the usual purple haze, hey joe, voodoo chile, foxy lady etc..(basically the songs they still play on the radio)

Anyone else here like Trivium?

I used to love them when the album Ascendancy came out, but I didn't like The Crusade. But I got their new album and love it, re listened to The Crusade and loved it. So recently i've been listening to those 3 albums non stop
