Congrats to Lawler on the win. Definitely one of the top middles out there. Props to Nick Diaz, the local boy, as well.

I actually picked Scott Smith to upset Robbie. I should've known better. But yes, Robbie is a top 10 MW. I have him sitting comfortably at number 6. He has some really good victories over fighters like Villasenor, Trigg, Ninja Rua, and now Scott Smith. But his rumored upcoming fight is a scary one, Frank Shamrock.

I love the whole Cesar Gracie team. So many excellent fighters come out of that camp. And Nick is certainly the one with the most experience. If you get a chance, watch his fight with top ranked LW, Takanori Gomi. One of the greatest fights in MMA history.

Oh yeah, that fight was brutal. That was the fight I was introduced to the gogoplata (spelling?). Too bad Diaz was on pot, right?

Yes, Nick was tested positive for Marijuana. Which makes his victory even more impressive in my opinion .
