Rumors are swirling around that it might be top ranked MW Matt "The Law" Lindland, who fights under the Affliction promotion. Too bad he doesn't want to defend his belt. He becomes the EliteXC's first WW champ and he immediately leaves the organization. LOL

An excellent opportunity has presented itself, which I think is fighting Lindland, who was scheduled to fight Vitor Belfort at Affliction 2. But Belfort has withdrawn from the fight due to a hand injury. Matt is a top 10 Middleweight. And if Shields could pull off a victory against him, it would boost up his career a ton. |
