The promoter intends to stage the contest in London at the end of October, and Maloney is convinced home advantage will land Napa the title. He added: “When it comes to slickness Napa is Britain’s answer to Floyd Mayweather Jr. “Ian is a joy to watch and I fully expect him to win a European title at the second attempt when he challenges Ballone. “It has taken a while, but Ian is now fulfilling the promise expected of him when he turned professional. “Ian is an inspiration to other professionals. Even when he was struggling in his career he never gave up and always believed the rewards would come.” Ballone, 32, won the title last December when he stopped Eugen Sorin Tanasie in eight rounds. Ballone, who has boasts a record of 21 wins, two losses and a draw made his first defence in May when he halted Valery Yanchy in ten rounds. British champion, Napa, will be encouraged that both of the champion’s fights outside of Belgium ended in defeat. Ballone was disqualified in the sixth round when he fought Kamel Guerfi in Luxembourg in November 2004. A year later Ballone lost a split decision in European title challenge against Simone Maludrottu in Italy. Napa, 30, also dropped a points decision when he also faced Maludrottu for the European 118lb belt in May 2007 Since then the pint-sized Hackney scrapper, has won been impressive winning four on the bounce and captured a Lonsdale belt outright when he stopped Colin Moffett three months ago. source - - - Boxing - UK Headlines - UK Boxing News
