Floyd easily. Tito is too 1 dimensional, he wouldn't have landed punches and Mayweather would be scoring at will. It goes the distance, than Mayweather gets the UD. That said, Tito is still the better Welterweight. He'd actually have a chance to beat modern day guys like Joshua Clottey and Paul Williams, Mayweather would be broken down. He loses to Floyd on style, not Welterweight ability. Speaking of styles making fights tho, another guy Floyd would beat ( Margarito ), is a perfect match-up for Tito. That would have been a real Mexican vs Puerto Rican war. This fight can still happen, Margarito needs to stop frontin and take his ass to Middleweight, and Tito needs to bring his ass back down there. Margarito has been fighting at 147 since he was 18...dude is 31 now. Unheard of.

My vote, like others have mentioned, is Floyd. Tito was 1-dimensional, which is the reason Oscar (before coasting), Hopkins and Wright has such great success with him. Obviously with Tito's power and size advantage he could get lucky. But Floyd is in a different league in terms of skill.

I would have to pick Tito on size, power and work rate Scott but no way will Tito be remebered above Floyd in the all time ratings.

When i think about Floyd hanging in that era of 147 with Tito, Quartey, Oscar etc, i keep thinking back to how close Floyds fight with a past his best Oscar was.

That was the golden age of the welterweight division. There was also Vargas, Forrest, Mosley, and the aging legend Whitaker. Clearly Floyd would of not been fighting at 147 with these guys, but the competition junior welterweight and below was no longer even a challenge for him in this modern era, so he had to go to a weight he had no business at.

That said, I wouldn't call Floyd over De La Hoya 8 rounds to 4 a close fight. That's how I scored it, and that's how Letterman scored it. It was how it went down.

I thought the SD was a fair result i had it by 1 to Oscar but it i wont argue with anyone who saw it the other way. A prime Oscar would have smashed Floyd though IMHO. He was a lot faster and also had better stamina than he does now.

As Max Kellerman said the night of the fight, any judge who scored that fight for Oscar never deserves to judge again.

Could have smashed Floyd when he was younger? Just like he did to Whitaker you mean? O yea...he couldn't hit Whitaker. Whitaker was the defensive genius of his time, Floyd is the defensive genius of right now. Same result, just maybe this time Oscar could have earned a SD.

The only big fight Oscar ever won was Quartey and Vargas, and Quartey could easily have won. Even the expert Teddy Atlas says Oscar loses all his big fights. Sorry dude, but damn near every credible voice on TV doesn't think much of De La Hoya. You lose this one hands down.

Max Kellerman is a douche my 4 year old cousin knows more about boxing than him. HBO are the most bias people i have ever heard calling a fight. By a long long way. Mayweather was there boy, Oscar was on the verge of retiring of course they were going to make it sound like ( Quote Lampley: Mayweather is operating like a surgeon)

HUH? Where about?

Another compubox nightmare for HBO. Why doesn't compubox score punches that land to the arms and shoulders?

Its pro boxing not the AM's.

Oscar was jabbing Floyd shoulders and hooking Floyds arms through the course of the fight...Those are scoring shots yet compubox does not count them.

It was a fight in a long line of fights at that time HBO were on the nuts of the house fighter.

People should watch fights with the sound off when they are on HBO because between the biasness and Merchant on the whisky its a joke.

All that may be true, aside from the whole scoring arm shots thing. ROFL, that's utterly retarded. Never in the history of boxing have those shots been counted. If De La Hoya wanted to punch his damn arms so much he should have done so in an effective manner, ie inflicting DAMAGE upon them causing Mayweather to have to drop his guard and open up to the clean punches oscar could never land. Mayweather landed around 50% of his shots, 8 rounds to 4 easy, get this arm punches should count nonsense out of your head.
