He's arguing it's almost not fair to rate him as a Welterweight, which I can understand. Close call tho. What would REALLY be unfair however, is rating Roy Jones Jr as a middleweight when he hangs it up. He'll technically have the most fights there...and exactly WHO could have beat Roy at middleweight? Not Robinson...not Hagler...not **** Tiger...and DAMN sure not Carlos Monzon. | |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | For me Robinson fought all his best opponents at 160 so that is why i rate him there. Same why i will rate Roy as a 175 fighter. Although Roy never fought his two best opponents at 175 he fought a better depth of talent up there. Roy cant be compared to guys like SRR and Hagler IMO, both fighters would have knocked him out fairly easily. These guys are the true elite in the history of boxing, Roy wll be remembered in the pool of fighters below them. He'll never break the top 20. ![]() Im not a fan of his but Mayweather is the only fighter of the past 15 years who has a chance of being remembered with the true elite. Lennox Lewis and Roy Jones will not be.
