My fave would have to be The Hawk .... Aaron Pryor

however i think that the best was "sweet pea" Pernell Whittaker.

I too think it was Duran. Chavez comes close though.

Duran is the best, IMO; favorite on the list: Hawk Pryor.

pernell whitaker is the best lightweight i have ever seen...NOBODY was going to outbox him at 135-140 pounds...and sluggers like chavez or duran stood no chance as that agressive style was taylor made for the slickest counterpunching southpaw i have ever seen...whitaker could use his legs and box outside or stand inside and make you miss using those masterful defensive techniques,then make you pay with pinpoint counters...whitaker isnt just the best lightweight i have ever seen,he one of the greatest boxers i have seen in any weight class...

i sound so traditional, but duran ! pernell was great as was JJC but duran is the legend.

Sweat Pea, Chavez and Duran would be the 3 on that list i considered. Sweat Pea and Chavez dew with eachother although i thought Sweat Pea won it by 2 rounds and it was up at 140. I have Duran over both fighters though, Duran was a beast at 135 with very underated skills and a crazy work ethic inside the ring.

Close call for this, until Sugar Shane Mosley retires anyways. Then it goes to him, hands down. I base this on what was accomplished DURING THE LIGHTWEIGHT DIVISION. If you factor all weight divisions into the mix...then yea I guess you gotta go with Duran. Them 2 vs each other at lightweight in their prime would of been the fight of the millennium.

Pryor and Chavez are on the Junior Welterweight list.

Whitaker is on the Welterweight list.

hmmm

Mosley never defeated any elite fighter at 135 his notable win would probably been Leija or Folden Johnson.

Mosley could hang with them all most probably at 135 but he wouldn't be considered top 10 of all time cause he beat nobody there.
