No drug charges for Olympic boxer
Bradley Saunders denied being involved in drug dealing
An Olympic boxer arrested on suspicion of dealing cocaine will not face any charges, police have said.
Bradley Saunders and his girlfriend were questioned in November after a tin of white powder was found by a sniffer dog in his garden in County Durham.
The substance, which police believed was an amount of the drug with a street value of £12,000, was sent for tests.
On Friday, a spokeswoman from Durham Police said: "The CPS has decided not to proceed."
The 22-year-old light welterweight, from Sedgefield, and his girlfriend had both denied being involved in drug dealing.
Speaking at the time, Mr Saunders, a father-of-one, said: "They told me they'd had an anonymous telephone call tip-off.
"There was never anything in that garden. I know nothing about any drugs."
The boxer was tipped to bring back a gold medal from the Beijing games but returned home after a shock defeat in his second fight.

Re: Saunders will not face charges.
Chaos overtook King's Road in May last year when Markham Square resident Mr Saunders threatened neighbours and the police with a gun.
After a four-hour siege - which saw shots fired into windows, armed officers swarm the famous shopping street, and grenades let off - Mr Saunders was shot dead by police, who fired 11 rounds at the lawyer.
The Crown Prosecution Service has now decided no action will be taken against seven officers involved in the fatal shooting.
Sally Walsh, reviewing lawyer from the CPS Special Crime Division, said: "In reaching my decision, I considered charges of murder, attempted murder and manslaughter against the officers who shot, and shot at, Mr Saunders.
"All of the firearms officers have stated they were acting in self-defence or in defence of colleagues.
"Therefore a prosecution for any of these offences would require, among other things, the CPS to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the officers did not honestly and genuinely believe that either they or others were in immediate danger. I have decided there is no real-istic prospect of proving this beyond reasonable doubt."
